The Malibu Education Foundation provides long-term funding for staff and staffed programs across all four Malibu schools: Malibu Elementary, Webster Elementary, Malibu Middle, and Malibu High. 

The Shark Fund focuses on supporting the booster organizations at Malibu Middle School and Malibu High School, funding programs and opportunities for students during the current school year. All funds donated to The Shark Fund stay at MMS and MHS and are spent this school year.

 All funds raised by the Shark Fund are used to support programs implemented during that school year. ABC and PTSA provide their funding requests to support their program annually to the Shark Fund. The Shark Fund sets its fundraising goals based on the requirements of the booster clubs. Because needs can change throughout the school year, the Shark Fund conducts regular Needs Assessment meetings to review current financial information, fundraising results, new or changing requests, and funding priorities.

If The Shark Fund does not raise the full amount requested by the booster clubs, some planned programs may need to be adjusted, scaled back, or postponed. The fundraising budget is based on programs and needs identified by the boosters, so available funding will ultimately determine what can be supported.

TSF will work closely with the booster clubs to prioritize the programs and resources that provide the greatest benefit to MMS/MHS students. The goal is to make thoughtful decisions about available funds and ensure that the dollars raised have the greatest possible impact.

In short, we may not be able to fund everything requested, but we will work together to make sure the funding we do have goes where it can make the biggest difference for students.

Yes. The Shark Fund is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
